My Thoughts On Politics

I’d like to put a short article here that describes my personal political thoughts and opinions.

Not that anyone gives a crap, but I’m of the personal belief that the current U.S. American political atmosphere is that of division and confusion. The latter, even more so.

Republicans and Democrats – again in my opinion – are simply two wings of the same bird.

Politicians only care about themselves, and they got into it for the money. Maybe not initially – some politicians had honest, pure intentions in their college days. But once they got into the actual political world?

They were devoured by the culture.

I guess a lot of them simply get bribed or threatened enough that they give in, and we have no idea that any of this is going on behind closed doors.

When I was in the Marine Corps in Washington, D.C. I had the opportunity to see and hang around a lot of politically-involved individuals. I still consider myself pretty green around the ears, or however that saying goes. I’m naïve to a lot of this stuff, but if there’s one thing I do know, it’s that people on Capitol Hill (and everywhere with a government building for that matter) are generally concerned about themselves first and the American people second.

It’s a shame, but if you really think about it, it’s been that way in every country since politics began. Since governments existed, really. Oligarchies, dictatorships, democracies, republics – it doesn’t matter. It’s about the power, money, and fame. The laws are made by lawmakers, endorsed by politicians, and that’s about as far as their work goes.

But again, I’m naïve about a lot of this stuff and do not pretend to know what I’m talking about. These are just some of my thoughts and opinions on the matter.

What do you think?
